Color Mode Guide
RGB
Use for: DTF printing, digital proofs, screen display
Colors may shift slightly when converted to print
CMYK
Use for: Business cards, banners, commercial print
Most accurate for print output
Pantone (PMS)
Use for: Screen printing, embroidery thread matching
Exact color matching — specify PMS codes when possible
Common Artwork Mistakes to Avoid
- ✗Sending low-resolution files (under 300 DPI) — results in blurry prints
- ✗Using RGB color mode for commercial print (should be CMYK)
- ✗Forgetting bleed on business cards and banners
- ✗Sending raster files for embroidery (vector is required for best results)
- ✗Tiny text or thin lines in embroidery designs (minimum 0.25 inch)
- ✗Not specifying print location or size
- ✗Sending a screenshot or photo of a logo instead of the original file
